Greetings: Teacher presents Learning objectives.

   - Checking homework. (write about the way of travelling )

While 2 or 3learners read their essays  others must listen attentively and be ready to comment. Whole class assessment is provided. Teacher observes.(I)

Pre-listening:

Learners read the text and answer True / False questions. They check their answers in pairs(Peer assessment)Teacher gives feedback.

Listening

Play the recording twice. Learners complete the gaps with a word from the box.

Learners listen for the specific information and complete the gaps. Teacher  provides peer or whole class assessment

Post – listening:

Tell your partner/ group about the last time you took a flight somewhere.

  ✓    Where did you go?
  ✓    How long was the flight?
  ✓    Did you have a good journey? Why? / Whynot?

Speaking:

Teacher divides learners into four groups. Give each learner some information about each place. Each group presents a place, they can make a poster. They should advertise a place for the others. They need to attract others to choose their place to visit. (G)

Differentiation : less able learners can suggest nouns or adjectives to describe the places

Note: Learners can use the internet to find more information if possible.

1. Kolsay Lakes
One of the most beautiful places on Kazakh land. They are located  at heights 1800, 2250 and 2700 metres above sea level.
2. Lake Balkhash
It is the third largest lake in Kazakhstan after the Caspian Sea and Aral Seas. Its nature is amazing.
3. State National Park «Burabay«
It was organized in August 2002 .14 lakes: Bolshoye and Maloye Chebachye, Schuchye, Borovoe and Maibalik are the greatest and well-known lakes.
4. Karaghiye Hollow
It is one of the deepest in the world at 132 meters below sea level. It is located in the Eastern part of the Mangyshlak plateau.
5. Independence Monument
It is a monument on the central square of Almaty, the main motive of which is the image of gold. Along with Baiterek it is a symbol of  modern  Kazakhstan.
6. Medeo
It is the most high-mountainous sport complex in the world.
7. Underground mosque Becket-Ata
Truly fantastic landscape! Standing on the edge of escarpment you can enjoy the flight of rare birds.
